About Wenzhou-Kean University
Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU), is approved by the Ministry of Education of China. Launched in 2012, WKU offers a unique model of higher education in partnership with Kean University, a comprehensive, public university in the state of New Jersey that is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. WKU sits on approximately 500 beautiful acres and currently enrolls about 3,500 undergraduate students, and it is now in the midst of a rapid growth that will bring enrollment to 7,000 students within the next five years. All instruction is in English and all curriculum is provided by Kean University. In addition to its current 18 undergraduate programs, WKU has been approved by the Ministry of Education for offering 8 Master’s and 3 doctorate programs. Wenzhou is one of the most vibrant and economically advanced developed cities on China’s East Coast, located one hour by plane and just over three hours by high-speed train from Shanghai.
Wenzhou-Kean University currently offers the following degree programs: Doctor of Educational Leadership (Ed.D.), Biotechnology Science (M.S.), Computer Information Systems (M.S.), Instruction and Curriculum (M.A.), Global Management (M.B.A.), and Architecture (M.Arch.); Finance (B.S.), Accounting (with emphasis on international standards and practices) (B.S.), Global Business (B.S.), Marketing (B.S.), Management (Business Analytics option/ Supply Chain & Information Management option) (B.S.), Economics (B.S.), Graphic Design (B.F.A.), Interior Design (B.F.A), Industrial Design (B.I.D.), Architectural Studies (B.A.), Computer Science (B.S.), Mathematical Sciences (Data Analytics Option) (B.A.), Biology (Cell and Molecular option) (B.S.), Chemistry (B.S.); Earth Science (Environmental Science option) (B.S.); English (English in Global Settings option) (B.A.); Psychology (General option/ Forensic Psychology option)(B.A.); and Communication (Public Relations option) (B.A.). About the Outstanding Youth Science Foundation Project
Outstanding Young Science Foundation Project (overseas) (OYSF) is designed to attract and encourage overseas outstanding young scholars who have achieved good reputation in field of natural sciences and engineering technology to work and carry out their research independently in China. This project helps to train and promote a number of outstanding researchers who are expected to enter the forefront of science and technology in the world and contribute to China development.
Qualifications
1. Abide by the laws and regulations of the Peoples Republic of China, have good scientific ethics, and consciously practice the spirit of scientists in the new era;
2. Born after January 1, 1982
3. Doctor’s Degree
4. Research field is natural science, engineering technology, etc.
5. Have more than 36 months consecutive months of official teaching or research work experience in overseas universities, research institutions, and R&D department in enterprises. For those who have obtained the doctoral degree overseas and have made outstanding achievements, the requirements for working years may be appropriately shorten.
6. Have obtained scientific or technological achievements recognized by peer experts, and have the potential to become academic leaders or outstanding talents in this field;
7. If the applicant has not come to China for full-time work, he/she must resign from overseas work or have no work overseas after receiving the funding notice, and work as full-time employee in China for at least 3 years.
WKU offers:
1. Position: Associate Professor or Professor.
2. Salary: ￥0.7-1.2million/year.
3. Start-up grant:￥ 0.5-3 million B according to your research statement and extra ￥1-3 million spread over in first 3 years.
4. Relocation fee: ￥0.2 million.
5. Housing subsidy: ￥1.8 million for housing purchase.
6. Other benefits: A well-rounded healthcare coverage, academic travel up to $2,000, housing options and subsidy up to $3,000, home traveling up to $6,000 (2 international round-trip airfares), , shuttle bus to campus for work; WKU tuition waiver up to 80% for spouse/dependent children of faculty for undergraduate programs, tuition discount of local private/international kindergarten, elementary, middle and high schools for children of faculty.
7. Work environment: Sufficient and comfortable office and lab room, full support for experiment facilities and materials.
8. Team building: you are entitled to recruit research assistant or graduates to join your research team.
9. Service: WKU provides service in solving problems such as visa/housing/travelling/children schooling/spouse work arrangement and etc.
